Thorium Hydroxide, Th(OH)4
Thorium Hydroxide, Th(OH)4, is formed as a gelatinous precipitate when a thorium salt solution is mixed with alkali hydroxide. It is insoluble in excess of alkali, but dissolves readily in acids and also in alkali carbonate solutions, forming complex carbonates.
